Riverspace engages audiences young and old throughout the Lower Hudson Valley. Our exceptional programming includes innovative theater, dance,
music, spoken word, and film – reflecting our area’s cultures and diversity.
Riverspace has shared some wonderful moments with our thousands of visitors these past three years. To name just a few, we have had:
- Magical evenings with our Conversation series, featuring Bill Irwin and Edward Albee, Lewis Black, Ellen Burstyn, Alec
Baldwin, Jonathan Demme and Meryl Streep, and Mike Nichols
- Full houses of families and young children every month for our innovative, participatory children’s “Milk and Cookies”
series
- Wednesday night at the movies featuring independent films and documentaries in partnership with Rivertown Film
- Inspiring master classes with superb musicians like Marc O’Connor, Matt Haimovitz, Bill Miller
- A successful teen series in the café offering a healthy outlet for our young people
- Weekly jazz concerts, followed by jam sessions for local artists to join in
- Monthly poetry readings with renowned poets (free admission)
- Readings and first looks of original works by Rockland playwrights
- Vivacious African drumming workshops and dance performances by gifted young performers
- Dancers like Bill T. Jones, Bridgman/Packer, Soave and Chiku-Awali tearing up the stage with wide ranging choreography
- Family sing-alongs with classics like The Sound of Music and Mary Poppins
- Performances of all kinds in collaboration with over 30 no-for-profit organizations, including Rockland Conservatory of
Music, Rockland Family Shelter, Hospice, The Green Meadow School, and Home of Hope
- A wide range of programs and a diverse audience, in keeping with our mission to build a more unified community
